JOB DETAILS

JOB TITLE: Silent Witness, Digital AP

CONTRACT TYPE: 9-month fixed term contract, full time

DEPARTMENT: BBC Studios Drama Productions (Silent Witness)

LOCATION: The Bond, Digbeth (West Midlands)

PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £35,000 - £40,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights. London weighting may be applicable.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

BBC One’s multi-award-winning crime drama Silent Witness is seeking a digitally savvy Assistant Producer with strong self-shooting skills to join the team. You’ll create bold, behind-the-scenes content and deliver standout social campaigns that attract new audiences and keep fans engaged. Working closely with the Drama Digital Team, you’ll help evolve this iconic brand across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube - ensuring every piece of content is adventurous, on-trend, and true to the Silent Witness DNA.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:

* Create scroll-stopping social campaigns on platforms like TikTok, Instagram, X and YouTube that grab attention and spark conversations.
* Craft fun, tailored content that really connects with Silent Witness audiences and keeps them engaged.
* Tap into audience insights and trending moments to shape a smart, forward-thinking content plan.
* Build strong, trusted relationships with production teams, cast and crew; ensuring easy access and collaboration.
* Tailor content to various social media platforms using expert technical knowledge to ensure smooth processes and maximum impact.


ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

* Proven experience as a Digital AP or Social Media Executive within broadcast production, ideally in scripted content.
* Demonstrated technical proficiency as a confident self-shooter and editor (e.g., Sony FX3), with a track record of creating high-quality social media content using smartphones, Adobe Suite, and audio/video editing tools.
* Established expertise in social media strategy, including platform trends, audience insights, digital revenue opportunities, and awareness of industry developments and competitor activity.
* Evidence of creative campaign development, generating innovative social media content ideas that drive engagement and align with brand objectives.
* Strong knowledge and passion for TV drama, particularly Silent Witness and its storylines and characters, and ability to evolve it for multi-platform, multi-device audiences.
* Proven ability to analyse and interpret data to measure campaign performance, using insights to optimize future content strategies.
