Our client is a growing and forward-thinking financial services business, known for their supportive culture and focus on professional development. They are looking for a detail-oriented and confident Credit Applications Analyst to join their team on a part-time basis.
The Role
In this role, you will assess finance applications on a case-by-case basis, using both data analysis and sound professional judgment. You will make credit decisions that balance customer affordability with company risk appetite, working in a regulated and fast-paced environment.
Location: Just outside Glasgow City Centre
Hours: 16 hours per week – ideally working Friday (all day or evening) and Monday (all day or evening) plus one additional shift to make up the hours.
Shift times are between 8am and 8pm.
Salary: £26,000 (Pro rata)
Key Responsibilities
•\tAssess applications by reviewing credit reference data, affordability indicators, and vehicle criteria using tools such as credit bureaus, Glass’s Guide, and CIFAS.
•\tMake sound decisions in line with policy and within your delegated authority.
•\tCarry out due diligence checks including trace, fraud prevention, and AML monitoring.
•\tMaintain accurate, detailed notes and record any sanction conditions.
•\tEnsure GDPR compliance and handle customer data securely.
•\tReport any suspicious activity in accordance with anti-fraud and AML procedures.
•\tHighlight opportunities for operational or customer service improvements.
•\tProvide a professional, empathetic service to both internal teams and external stakeholders.
•\tEnsure accuracy, confidentiality, and timely follow-up on all actions.
•\tContribute to a positive and collaborative team culture.
About You
•\tPrevious experience in financial services.
•\tAbility to analyse and interpret credit reference data.
•\tComfortable working under pressure in a high-volume, target-driven environment.
•\tStrong attention to detail with analytical and numerical skills.
•\tFlexible, proactive, and solutions-focused.
•\tPrior underwriting experience is desirable.
•\tStudying towards or holding a qualification in Finance, Risk, or a related field is an advantage.
