Responsibilities
Front End Development Architecture (80%)
* Collaborate on front end product architecture for building robust distributed systems: Provide input on technical feasibility of UI/UX designs, optimize application for maximum speed, scalability, and accessibility.
* Implement outlined information architecture & interaction design ensuring alignment with back‑end specifications for complex software applications and systems.
* Confer with business analysts, data scientists, or project managers to obtain information on limitations or capabilities.
* Serve as a contributing team member, participating in software development lifecycle and regularly communicating status to Head of Engineering or Development Director.
* Develop new user‑facing features and build reusable code and libraries for future use. Building and maintaining internal design system.
* Write clean, test‑driven code that adheres to standards, practices, and conventions.
* Test features to ensure the program can be used easily, quickly, and accurately.
* Update, repair, modify, and develop existing software and generic applications.
Product Analysis and Customer Support (15%)
* Collaborates with Customer Support and Implementation teams to resolve issues and bugs identified in testing and production support.
* Consults with customers or other departments on project status, proposals, or technical issues.
* Supports innovation through trend analysis, identifying new opportunities, developing novel ideas and/or participation in idea generation activities to improve company processes, services, or products.
Qualifications Required
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field, and 5+ years’ relevant experience.
* At least one major skill outside of programming such as monitoring, performance optimization, documentation, integration, testing, or visual design.
Technical Skills
To perform this job successfully, the Principal React Engineer should have experience with:
* React 18+ & TypeScript: Advanced hooks, strict typing, generics, composition patterns, performance optimization
* TanStack Ecosystem: Query v5 (server state, caching), Router v1 (file‑based routing, type‑safe navigation), Table (data grids), Virtual (list virtualization)
* Nx Workspace: Task orchestration, affected commands, custom generators, caching
* Testing: Vitest, Cypress, MSW
* Storybook 8: Component documentation and visual testing
Architectural Understanding
* Micro‑frontend architecture within Nx monorepo
* Domain‑driven design for business logic
* API‑first development with type‑safe contracts
