We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated research administrator to Emergency and Critical Care Research Team at Southmead Hospital.
The post is line managed by the Senior Research Nurse. You will be working in a small team of Research Nurses & existing Administrator
We are looking for:
1. Experience of administration and a desire to work in clinical research;
2. Outstanding attention to detail and excellent organisational skills;
3. Strong IT skills.

Main duties of the job
This role is vital in supporting ICU, Emergency, Stroke & Anaesthetic Research It is a fixed post for 12 months. Extension of the post cannot be guaranteed.
The post is suitable for someone who is flexible to work with a variety of different clinical teams, self-motivated, extremely organised and efficient with good communication and IT skills to include Microsoft packages

Job responsibilities
The individual will support the delivery and conduct of both commercial and non-commercial trials, core duties will include:
7. Day-to -day management of the trial databases
8. Day- to- day organisation of the team including assisting with Nursing rota organisation
9. Typing of research and clinic letters
10. Administration relating to a variety of research trials
11. Booking patient appointments and managing appointment diaries
12. Liaising with research study sponsors pharmaceutical companies
13. Liaising with patients
14. Liaising with other health and social care professionals
15. Setting up mail merges and sending out relevant documents
16. Organisation of meetings
17. Producing accurate minutes of meetings
18. General administration relating to the trials and that of the PI
Line management for this post will be administered through the clinical research centre manager.
The post holder will be required to work flexible across a variety of research teams dependent on the needs of the department.

Education/Training/Qualifications

19. ECDL or equivalent qualification or experience

20. NVQ Business Administration level 3 or equivalent experience

21. Previous administrative experience requiring adherence to protocols and following SOP's

24. A good working knowledge of the full range of Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel, TEAMS etc.)
