Stamp Duty Tax Manager 104484
Base Location: Manchester is the main hub however we are open to regional candidates as well in Birmingham or London.

What will you be doing?
1. Providing fit for purpose Stamp Taxes advice on tax structuring projects and implementation of transactions.
2. Navigating clients through stamp taxes issues and risks identified as part of tax due diligence reviews.
3. Assisting with ad hoc advisory questions, including advice on a wide range of transactions, and carrying out detailed technical research.
4. Assisting with Stamp Duty Reserve Tax (SDRT) reviews of clients' procedures and controls and eligibility for reliefs and to liaise with HMRC to obtain clearance on unusual SDRT transactions.
5. Drafting clearance applications to HMRC for fund mergers / de-mergers for SDRT.
6. Contributing to the business development of the team as well as expanding your market profile within KPMG and external clients.
7. Providing support on stamp tax compliance projects,, preparation of revenue submissions on stamp duty claims, various stamp taxes returns and refund requests etc.
8. Ensuring all risk procedures are adhered to
What will you need to do it?
9. Strong technical knowledge and understanding of UK Stamp Taxes
10. The ability to build client relationships.
11. Commercial and legal understanding of transactions.
12. Strong interpersonal skills in addition to strong oral and written communication skills.
13. Detailed analytical skills and a commercial approach to resolving issues and providing advice.
14. The ability to work as part of a multifunctional team.
15. Strong task and team management skills.
