To support the Head of Service in the development, management and delivery of an efficient and effective Intensive Personalised Support (IPS) service for children / young people and adults who have enhanced needs and behaviours that some may find challenging, their families and other stakeholders. In the Head of Service’s absence, you will deputise and administer service delivery.

This role is responsible for managing the daily operations of the Intensive Personalised Support (IPS) service, with a primary focus on building and strengthening referral pipelines from external stakeholders. The role plays a pivotal part in coordinating a cohesive team to ensure effective intervention delivery. This involves working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those with learning disabilities and challenging behaviours. A major emphasis is placed on actively developing and nurturing relationships with external partners to increase referrals, ensuring the service reaches those who need it most.


Main Duties and Responsibilities:

The main duties and responsibilities of this role involve overseeing the coordination and conversion of incoming referrals to the IPS service, ensuring that children, young people, their families, and professionals receive high-quality behavioural support in an efficient and organised manner. A key focus is on developing and strengthening relationships with external stakeholders, promoting a positive image of the service within local authorities to encourage and secure additional referrals. The role also includes representing the IPS service at conferences and professional events, engaging with commissioners and social workers to communicate the service’s goals, achievements, and impact while fostering collaboration and partnerships. Reviewing multidisciplinary reports and social care assessments, including SEN, conducting functional assessments of behaviours and risks, and working collaboratively with clients and professionals to implement meaningful interventions are essential aspects of the position.

Additionally, the role requires acting as the Head of Service in their absence to ensure seamless continuity of operations, providing supervision, guidance, and direct coaching to support team development, and contributing significantly to recruitment and training processes to maintain high standards of service delivery. Daily management responsibilities include overseeing support workers and Assistant Psychologists, managing case allocations, scheduling, and ensuring efficiency within the team. The role also involves providing fair and balanced feedback to staff and families, addressing areas of poor practice, and ensuring frequent reviews of service delivery for each client. Collaboration with young people, adults, and key individuals in their lives is crucial, ensuring their voices guide interventions.

The role requires flexibility, adaptability, and participation in promotional and growth objectives, including providing on-call support when needed.
