SUMMARY:
Ensures the smooth running of theFacilities/ITprovisioninthe school
Full-time, 6 days per week

1. Highly motivated,proactiveand positive, creative & energetic with lots of common sense as key
2. Ability to work independently with decision makingskills
3. Basic knowledge of general maintenance, decorating, grounds maintenance, furniture assembly, building work & DIY, a hands onapproach
4. Basic understanding of Health and Safety

7. Enjoys working under pressure & able to meet tight deadlines
8. Customer service minded and quality oriented

OBJECTIVES:
To ensure that all health and safety issues are treated as priority and criteria of accrediting bodies with regards to health and safety are met
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
FACILTIES:
14. Ensures building is kept in premium condition by carrying out routine building checksand following up on issues
15. Liaises with external maintenance contractors while onsite
16. Maintains& replenishessupplies of maintenance stock
17. Basic Decorating & paintwork asrequired
18. Performsregular safety checks such as ensuring fire doors are closing properly, fire signs are in place, fire alarm & emergency lighting equipment is functioning, fire blankets & extinguishers are in place and not tampered withetc.
19. Performsregular risk assessments of buildings & grounds, notifying line manager of any concerns
20. Acts as Health & Safety Officer, ensuring that legal requirements and procedures aremaintained, and policiesfollowed
21. Ensures all classrooms are adequatelyfurnished, clean, well presented andappropriate forlearning needs
22. Ensures that living and leisure areas are adequatelyfurnished, clean, well presented andappropriate forrequired use
23. Manages list of maintenance issues, ensures repairs are promptly carried out and feedback given to staff reporting issues
24. Monitors school courtyard and social areas during break-times
25. Ensuresappropriate signageis in place and notice boards are organised & effective
26. Dealswith student enquiries & requests asrequired
27. Checksfurnishings regularly for any adjustments or repairsrequired
28. Checksall light fittings & replace bulbs asrequired
29. Tidying up corridors, toilets, courtyard as required
30. Assistswith cleaning ifrequired
31. Other general maintenance / caretaker duties
32. Assembly and move furniture/other items around the site asrequired
33. Tours buildings regularly to ensure any Health and Safety issues are urgently addressed and the building ismaintainedto the highest possible standards
GENERAL:
34. Able to open and close the schoolwhen needed
35. Supports the team with maintenance and cleaning issues, including liaising with cleaners and contractors.
36. Takes pride in the look and feel of schoolandcampus andhelps to keep the buildings fit for purposeand customer friendly
