About the role You will join Professor Dario Farina's research team in the Department of Bioengineering at Imperial College London and will work in close collaboration with the Intelligent Muscle Research Group led by Dr Majid Taghavi at Queen Mary University of London. The focus of the research will be on the development of soft actuators, from material and structural perspectives, with exceptional adaptable capabilities for use in next-generation advanced robotic systems. What you would be doing We are seeking an enthusiastic Research Assistant or Research Associate to join the Department of Bioengineering at Imperial College London. The successful candidate will undertake pioneering research on soft actuators designed to replicate the adaptable functions of human muscles. What we are looking for You will have proven research track record, hands-on experience and a solid understanding of electro-active artificial muscles. You will have a strong passion for interdisciplinary research, collaborative teamwork, and innovative problem-solving. The position requires maintaining a high standard of research, presenting findings at leading international conferences, and publishing in high-impact journals. You must have a good undergraduate degree/ MSc in Mechanical, Electrical, or Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related discipline relevant to soft actuators for Research Assistant position. For appointment at Research Associate level, a PhD (or near completion) in Mechanical, Electrical, or Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related discipline relevant to soft actuators.
