Quality Control Technician

We are looking for a Quality Control Technician to join us at the Kurt J. Lesker Company at our European headquarters based in St. Leonards, East Sussex.
The fixed working pattern for this position is Monday – Thursday 08:00 – 17:00 and Friday 08:00 – 14:30.
Key Job Elements:
1. Meet the requirements of Quality Control Technician level 1 MSJ-GEN-321.
2. Perform visual and dimensional inspections using established quality methods and procedures. Verify compliance of materials and components.
3. Perform visual and dimensional inspections of complex products and components according to established acceptance criteria and engineering drawing specifications. Complete inspection forms and update records.
4. Ensure all tasks are carried out in accordance with company and health and safety guidelines.
5. Assist with monitoring and implementing the company’s Hold Tag process.
6. Maintain the calibration database and organize calibration of all gauges and measuring equipment.
7. Promote quality-first principles in all aspects of the role.
8. Approve or reject products based on sample level inspections.
9. Possess an advanced understanding of measuring tools such as vernier calipers, micrometers, rules, feeler gauges, height gauges, slip gauges, and the Faro arm.
10. Generate Faro programming.
11. Create full article inspection reports (FAI).
12. Maintain records of leak checking and traceability where applicable.
13. Assist in evaluating new supplier qualifications.
14. Balance and operate multiple tasks to maximize efficiency.
15. Collaborate with machinists, engineering, and production management to solve problems and improve processes.
16. Assist with processing customer returns, including evaluating products, recording data, liaising with procurement and management, and acting on related requests.
Qualifications:
Required
1. Faro Arm (CMM) experience.
2. ONC/HNC (Mechanical, Manufacturing Technology, or Industrial Technology) or equivalent experience.
3. Advanced understanding of mathematics and the ability to read mechanical drawings (trigonometry and sine rules).
4. Knowledge of CMM operations, SPC inspections, GD&T, first article, in-process, and final inspection.
5. Proficiency with computer systems and database management.
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
7. Well-organized and detail-oriented.
8. Good time management and multi-tasking skills.
9. Experience inspecting vacuum chambers or related components.
Preferred
1. Vacuum experience.
2. Lean manufacturing principles.
