IC Resources is working with a Bristol-based client who is in need of a Mechanical Engineer to support the design and development of military land vehicle systems. You will play a key role in delivering robust, high-performance mechanical solutions within regulated defence environments, contributing across the full product lifecycle from concept through to production and in-service support. This will be a 6 month contract Outside IR35, with a working model of 4 days a week in Bristol.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop 3D models and detailed mechanical designs using Siemens NX
* Create and manage engineering data, assemblies, and BOMs within Teamcenter PLM
* Design components and systems for land-based military vehicles (e.g., structures, enclosures, mounting systems, and mechanisms)
* Produce detailed manufacturing drawings and technical documentation to defence standards
* Perform design analysis including tolerance studies, structural considerations, and environmental performance
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (systems, electrical, manufacturing, and test)
* Support design reviews, verification, and validation activities
* Ensure compliance with relevant defence, safety, and quality standards
* Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes and design practices
Required Skills & Experience
* Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer in defence or highly regulated industries
* Strong proficiency in Siemens NX (CAD) and Teamcenter (PLM)
* Experience designing for military land vehicles or similar ruggedised platforms
* Good understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, fabrication, casting, etc.)
* Experience producing detailed drawings and working to GD&T standards
