Nearly a year on from opening, The Horse & Groom has built a reputation as a warm, lively country pub with full dining rooms, loyal regulars, and Sunday roasts that fly out the door. With a strong first year behind us, we're now looking for a Head Chef to help build on that success and shape what comes next.
We're not looking for someone to just keep the wheels turning; this role is about creativity, collaboration, and putting your own stamp on our menus. Unlike many kitchens where chefs are told what to cook, here you'll have the chance to design and develop dishes with management input, making this an opportunity to really bring your ideas to life.
Our Perfect Match Will:
· Have at Head Chef or at least three years Sous Chef experience
· Bring a passion for innovation and creativity to the kitchen
· Demonstrate strong leadership and team-building skills
· Thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced culinary environment
· Have a track record of delivering high-quality dining experiences
· Possess excellent communication and organisational abilities

· Display a keen understanding of food cost control and kitchen management

As Head Chef Your Responsibilities Will Include:
· Leading the kitchen team with passion and precision.
· Crafting and executing innovative menus that delight our guests.
· Ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation.
· Work with management to cost and price dishes to ensure desired margins.
· Keep track of stock and communicate what's needed for ordering.
· Developing and mentoring kitchen staff to foster growth and teamwork.
· Adhering to food safety and sanitation regulations.
· Maintaining a positive and professional kitchen environment.
· Continuously improving kitchen processes and procedures.
· Delivering exceptional dining experiences that keep guests coming back.

* Salary: £40,000, based on ~45 hours per week.
* Double pay on key trading days (Valentine's, Easter, Mother's Day, Christmas).
