Overview
Ross Hall Hospital in Glasgow is part of the Circle Health Group, a leading provider of independent healthcare services. The Hospital offers a bank position for a Healthcare Assistant to support the Theatre department.
This role is on an “as and when required” basis, providing cover for staff during busy periods or absences and supplementing staffing levels during peak times.
Duties
* Assist patients with personal hygiene, washing, dressing, toileting, oral care, and mobility needs, respecting their preferences and dignity.
* Help patients with eating, drinking, and nutritional support, including documenting intake where appropriate.
* Provide comfort and emotional support to patients and relatives, creating a caring and safe environment.
* Carry out and accurately record routine observations such as blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, temperature, oxygen saturation and blood glucose levels (after appropriate training).
* Support basic clinical procedures, including wound care setup, assisting with catheter care, pressure area prevention and mobility aids.
* Prepare and maintain clinical areas, including trolleys, beds and equipment in readiness for patient use.
* Work collaboratively with nurses, doctors, therapists and admin teams to support safe and efficient patient care.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Previous experience in a care or health support role (hospital, care home, community or domiciliary).
* Good communication and interpersonal skills with a caring, compassionate attitude.
* Ability to follow instructions and raise concerns appropriately.
* Basic literacy, numeracy and IT skills.
* Physically able to undertake duties including moving and handling tasks.
* NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification) desirable.
* Knowledge of safeguarding, infection control and confidentiality procedures.
Salary and Benefits
Salary: Up to £12.50 per hour (depending on level of experience, training and qualification). The Circle Health Group offers a competitive hourly rate and a supportive working culture.
