Job Summary
Role Title: Mental Health and Wellbeing Coach
Location: Yale
Contract Type: Full time / Fixed Term until March 2026
We currently have a vacancy for a Mental Health and Wellbeing Coach to work on our Yale site.
The Mental Health and Wellbeing Coach will be responsible for supporting the engagement, development, and progression of learners into learning. They will help learners settle into their environment and identify and overcome emotional and well-being barriers that may prevent active engagement.
They will manage a specific caseload of learners across all college sites, providing support and coaching. The role involves direct coaching and referring learners to college counsellors and other agencies when necessary.
Under the guidance of the Mental Health & WellBeing Lead, the coach will work closely with the Mental Health and Wellbeing Coordinator, Wellbeing Advisors, Progress Coaches, and Student Services.
All Coaches will be based across sites to provide 1:1 support, coaching, and guidance to students and staff.
You will be responsible for accurate data recording and report collation to meet audit requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
* Good education (GCSE Grade C or above in literacy and numeracy)
* Basic Counselling Qualification
* Excellent resilience and empathy
* Ability to handle sensitive situations
* Understanding of safeguarding legislation
* Relevant work experience, especially with young people and mental health support
* Knowledge of support agencies
* ICT skills including Microsoft Office and Google suite
