About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Leyland. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering the Quantity Surveying function on assigned projects, as directed by the Commercial Manager.
What Will Your Role Include
* Taking the lead in the ownership of cost controls on your projects, managing and supporting the site teams as required
* Preparing monthly CV and forecast reports
* Reconcile project costs and values monthly through the CVR process
* Assess and submit accurate quotations and compensation events
* Prepare and submit pricing for maintenance contract works
* Maintain accurate scheme costs and resolve queries
* Prepare and submit payment applications and final accounts on time
* Manage subcontractor supply chain, including issuing orders, assessing AFPs, and processing payments
* Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies
* Advise on contractual claims, cost overruns, and project scope changes
* Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and operational staff
* Attend internal and external meetings (virtual and in-person) to ensure accurate cost data and efficient project delivery
Requirements
* BSc/MSc in Quantity Surveying
* Experience working with NEC contracts, especially Target Cost
* Civil engineering, ideally with highway experience
* Strong Excel, Word, and database skills
* Self-motivated, organised, and detail-oriented
* Excellent communication, commercial awareness, and teamwork
* Full UK clean driving licence
