The Role

As an Associate Director in our AMA team, you will be responsible, amongst other things for:

1. Delivering large, complex client engagements, operating at board level and the level below
2. Management of KPMG teams whilst on client engagements, the AMA team and across the business
3. Focusing the deployment of asset management capability on client engagement and within KPMG
4. Managing the use and development of Asset Management tools and methodologies across the team and within client engagements
5. Engaging with global teams, including the Global Asset Management community to leverage resources and capabilities, developing robust approaches to the supporting service lines
6. Managing the day-to-day relationship with key client contacts, ensuring our service is responsive to their needs
7. Managing client engagement teams and delivery of work to clients, ensuring the production of high-quality deliverables
8. Financial management, ensuring timely raising of fee notes and assisting in the recovery of fees, and keeping clients informed of costs and time incurred on an appropriately regular basis
9. Ensuring KPMG's compliance, quality and risk management procedures are completed to the appropriate standard
10. Proactively keeping up to date with Asset Management thinking on a global level.
11. Supporting the development of the KPMG AMA brand with thought leadership and speaking engagements



Business development:

12. Identifying opportunities with existing client engagements to add further value and meet a client need, resulting in extensions to assignments or providing further expertise to an existing team
13. Building relationships and identifying opportunities where KPMG can help clients to convert opportunities into new assignments
14. Assisting on client proposals and other business development initiatives including leading the development of AMA market propositions
15. Coaching and mentoring other staff to develop their business development skills
16. Being a role model for junior staff and the firm's values

The Person

We are looking for a person who can work at pace and bring experience and practical solutions across the broad services we provide and sectors we operate in.

You will need to be able to work across different client types and have proven experience in delivering complex engagements, with a high level of client relationship management and a track record of delivering high-quality outputs that lead to securing further work. The level of technical expertise will vary but will likely come from a background in asset management, infrastructure projects and/or business management from within asset-intensive organisations.



Essential Requirements:

17. Experience focused on realising the strategic value of asset management at an enterprise level, not just engineering/operational level application
18. Experience engaging with Board-level representatives on strategic asset management topics
19. Understanding infrastructure organisation operating models and ability to assess the end-to-end process for asset management and infrastructure delivery (including operations and maintenance) for asset-intensive organisations
20. Experience with asset life-cycle decision-making and the ability to manage and direct the creation of asset management plans, capital programmes or maintenance regimes
21. Assessing and managing risks at both a service/network level and an asset level
22. Strong analytical skills and/or strong written, communication and presentation skills
23. Good understanding of asset management information and knowledge management
24. Experience in one or more key sectors of Oil & Gas, Energy Transition, Natural Resources or Utilities
25. Track record of managing client relationships
26. Ability to develop strong working relationships at all levels
27. Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams
28. Commercial awareness
29. Relevant advisory / consulting / assurance experience

33. Techniques for whole-life costing and accounting
34. Managing change in asset management IT systems and capabilities
35. Asset management information systems - Contractor and supplier management
36. It would be advantageous if the individual has practical experience of providing advisory services and if the individual had worked across a number of sectors.
