5 RESPONSIBILITIES: 5.1 Create programs for the CNC machines from models and drawings using CAD/CAM packages for offline programming and online programming on the machines. 5.2 Specify / select the correct tooling to manufacture the part using the most efficient processes. 5.3 Specify / select the correct work holding system to manufacture the parts. 5.4 Safely operate / use the machine. 5.5 Load programs onto the machine and select the defined tooling and set it with the correct offsets. 5.6 Conduct inspection of parts being produced by the machine they are setting and operating. 5.7 Always use manual override to control the feed rate and monitor the distance to the job when setting a new job on a machine to prevent crashes of tooling into part/chuck/ work holding / fixture / billet table / etc. 5.8 Always stop the machine before a crash/ impact that will cause damage to the machine / tooling / component or materials. 5.9 Produce conforming parts to the drawings. 5.10 Complete deburring operations as required. 5.11 Change inserts, tools offsets when required. 5.12 Ensure all documentation is completed accurately. 5.13 Use the SFDC (Shop Floor Data Collection) to clock on and off the jobs accurately. 5.14 Report non-conforming parts on SFDC and to the team leader. 5.15 Suggest improvements to the program / tooling that will improve the productivity / quality of the parts or process.
