Advertiser's description (via the University of Oxford):

Applications are invited for a researcher to work in the THRIVING Food Futures research hub. THRIVING Food Futures is led by Professor Peter Scarborough at the University of Oxford with collaborators at City St George’s, University of London, Queen Mary University of London, the Universities of Cambridge, Strathclyde and Warwick, and Sustain. This new research hub will be a space for academics, policymakers and the public to co-design work on healthy, sustainable diets for everyone. It includes work streams that will: engage the community, develop tools and metrics, enhance our understanding of relevant policy, and develop and evaluate new interventions.

The successful applicant will work on the co-design of a policy tool called a Nutrient and Environment Profiling Model (NEPM). This tool will support national and local policies designed to support healthy, sustainable diets. Responsibilities will include: development of algorithms to identify healthy and/or sustainable foods; testing these algorithms against the subjective judgments of a working group of policymakers; presenting easily accessible results at project meetings and in reports.

You will hold a PhD in population health or a related field, or have equivalent experience, have strong quantitative analysis skills, and have experience of working on projects based around healthy and/or sustainable diets.

You will be based in the Gibson Building, Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, Radcliffe Primary Care Building, Woodstock Road, Oxford, OX2 6GG as your normal place of work. You will be able to agree a pattern of regular remote working with your line manager (Dr Hannah Forde) if required.

The position is funded by UK Research and Innovation Building a Green Future strategic theme, NIHR, EPSRC, MRC and NERC, for two years in the first instance.

The closing date for applications is 12:00 noon on Monday 16 December 2024.

Interviews are expected to take place the week of 6 January 2025.
