Location: Bury St Edmunds (Swift House, Quidenham – Satellite of our client’s Mildenhall school)
Salary: £27,510 - £35,585 per annum (actual salary, paid all year round including school holidays)
Contract Type: Full-time or part-time considered
Working Hours: Full-time: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm
About the Role:
Our client is a small, independent special school for pupils aged 11–16 with a focus on social and emotional development. Based at Swift House in Quidenham, a satellite of their Mildenhall site, the school provides a therapeutic, nurturing environment underpinned by the principles of THRIVE. The school builds strong, trusting relationships between staff and students, creating the foundation for meaningful progress and success.
Our client is seeking a General Teacher to join their dedicated team, delivering a motivational and progressive curriculum that supports academic, emotional, and social growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Undertake subject teaching responsibilities, ensuring all pupils develop essential knowledge and skills
Work collaboratively with the Head Teacher and Leadership Team to deliver a sequenced curriculum aligned with planned outcomes
Monitor each pupil’s progress effectively, using data and regular checks to adapt learning and implement timely interventions
Support the development of pupils’ self-confidence, independence, and emotional resilience
Ideal Candidate:
Qualified Teacher (QTS/QTLS/PGCE)
Able to teach across a range of subjects from primary level up to GCSE
Experience preparing and delivering differentiated, inclusive lessons using a variety of methodologies
Prior experience within a SEN setting is advantageous
Passionate about creating inclusive and supportive learning environments for pupils with additional needs
