Chartered Building Surveyor
Location: Manchester
Salary: £55,000 – £60,000 per annum + benefits
Working pattern: Hybrid
About the Role
Our client, a leading built environment consultancy, is continuing to grow its presence in Manchester and is seeking a talented and motivated Chartered Building Surveyor to join their expanding team. Your Opportunity
As a Chartered Building Surveyor, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality services to a diverse and prestigious client base. You will be involved in both project and professional work, contributing to the ongoing success and development of the team.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and develop detailed project briefs in collaboration with clients and senior colleagues
* Build, manage, and maintain strong client relationships
* Undertake site surveys, including measured surveys, condition surveys, and defect analysis
* Prepare designs, specifications, and tender documentation
* Administer building contracts (JCT and NEC)
* Deliver a full range of professional surveying services, including:
* Defect analysis
* Party wall consultancy
* Dilapidations
* Insurance inspections and claims advice
* Liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and internal/external consultants
* Support team leadership activities, including project financial management, mentoring, and recruitment
About You
* Degree qualified in a RICS-approved discipline
* MRICS Chartered status
* Experience working across commercial, healthcare, or education sectors (public or private)
* Proficient in AutoCAD and/or Revit
* Experience using NBS Chorus
* Full UK driving licence
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with high commercial awareness
* Analytical mindset with the ability to produce clear, well-reasoned reports
* Demonstrated potential to mentor and support junior team members
