Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, motivated and enthusiastic nurse to join our well-established specialist Respiratory Nurse team at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust.
The current team provides specialist respiratory care throughout the Bristol site, across inpatient and outpatient services, to patients with both acute and chronic respiratory conditions. We are seeking a nurse with a good understanding of long-term respiratory conditions, excellent communication skills and the ability to work autonomously within the supportive environment of a forward-thinking and experienced team.
This is a full-time position to cover 12 months maternity leave.
Responsibilities
* As a specialist respiratory nurse, provide holistic care including assessment, planning and treatment as well as advice and support to patients with respiratory conditions.
* Act as a resource to hospital staff and other healthcare professionals requiring specialist input.
* Work alongside the established team to enhance your current level of practice whilst supporting you to develop your confidence and ability to independently review patients and make decisions.
* Contribute to excellent communication and teamwork within the team and with patients and families.
Qualifications and Skills
* Good understanding of long-term respiratory conditions.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work autonomously within a supportive multidisciplinary environment.
* Interest in developing practice and confidence to independently review patients and make informed decisions.
