The team promotes best practices for data management with a focus on data quality. The team has global coverage and interacts with members across all areas of the Firm, including Finance, Operations, Institutional Securities, Firm Risk, Wealth Management, Technology, and external stakeholders.This is a Director level position within our Data Management Job Family which is responsible for supporting data management across Finance including data sourcing, execution of data quality controls, data issues management & data governance.The Finance Data Sourcing and Lineage team is responsible for managing the authoritative sourcing of data into the Finance Data Warehouse (FDW) from data authorities and enabling the adoption of FDW data by Finance in line with Global Data Quality Policy and BCBS 239. The Firmwide principles establish and communicate best practices to effectively manage data, to assess the impact of data challenges, and to prioritize the remediation of issues related to data across the Firm. The aim is to source and catalogue complete and accurate data from authoritative sources ensuring the data is 'fit for purpose'.Given the heightened focus on adequate data quality governance, this is a growing team in the Glasgow office and presents a great opportunity to help shape the function going forward and gain exposure to a wide range of functions, products, and management across Morgan Stanley.In the Finance division, we act as a partner to business units around the globe by providing management, review, analysis and advisory services of the Firm's financial and capital resources.
