I am looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join my client, a Bristol-based biotech developing next-gen IVDs for bloodstream infections.
What you'll be doing?
As a Mechanical Engineer, you’ll design and develop advanced instrumentation integrating mechanical, electrical, thermal, and fluidic systems. You’ll lead projects from concept to deployment, working closely with cross-functional teams to prototype, test, and refine complex devices. Your work will support system integration, field deployment, and compliance with ISO13485 standards.
You’ll collaborate on the development of automated fluid-handling and biochemical processing platforms, contribute to architectural decisions, and ensure smooth integration across subsystems. This is a hands-on role that balances technical execution with project ownership in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.
What they are looking for?
You’re a creative, practical engineer with a strong mechanical foundation and a passion for solving multidisciplinary challenges. You enjoy working in dynamic teams, building prototypes, and driving projects forward with clear communication and technical insight.
You should have an MSc/MEng in mechanical or related engineering and 3+ years of experience developing electromechanical systems. Proficiency in CAD (e.g., Fusion360), strong prototyping skills, and the ability to manage projects independently are essential. Experience in biotech or medical devices, robotics, fluidics, or ISO13485-compliant development is highly desirable.
What you'll get in return for your experience?
The salary for this role is £45,000 - £50,000 plus benefits. It is a permanent, full-time position based on-site in Bristol, UK. The expected start date is June/July 2025. Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK to apply.
