About Our Client
An excellent opportunity for a Buying and Merchandising Assistant to work for a leading home décor business. They have been trading for over 40 years and sell items such as beds, chairs, cushions, and throws. Due to growth, they are seeking a Buying and Merchandising Assistant.
Job Responsibilities
* Develop and manage the critical path for all product launches, ensuring timelines are met from concept to delivery.
* Track product progress across the supply chain, maintaining communication between suppliers and customers.
* Manage progress of gold seal tracking, packing approval, customer range review samples, etc.
* Identify and resolve delays proactively to keep projects on schedule.
* Create and update spec files for products for the QC team and update into the critical path.
* Manage photography samples and track timelines.
* Support with costing sheets and creating quote sheets with photographs for the sales team.
* Assist the buyer with supplier communication regarding pricing, lead times, and MOQs, maintaining quality and margin goals.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers through daily communication.
* Conduct range analysis based on sales data and create reports to identify buying opportunities and manage stock levels.
* Work with the merchandising team on forecasting and replenishment plans.
* Manage clearance and discontinued lines, including costings and photos for the sales team.
* Prepare PowerPoint presentations on market trends, promotional lines, and trade fair insights.
* Coordinate trade fair samples, ticketing, and pricing for events like Spring Fair.
* Prepare samples for customer meetings and create presentations.
* Research market trends and competitor shops.
The Successful Candidate
* Experience in merchandising and buying.
* Knowledge of critical path management tools and methodologies.
* Analytical mindset with a passion for market research and trends.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with experience in supplier management.
* Proficiency in Excel, PLM systems, and project management tools.
* Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
* Passion for products and a desire to work in a fast-paced buying and merchandising environment.
