Overview
Two caring and supportive personal assistants are required for an energetic, happy and lively 6‑year‑old boy living in the St Germans area.
He has ASD and is non‑verbal, and he would like two adults who he can build up a positive relationship with and provide him with some 2:1 support.
He would like someone to support him with his communication and social skills out in the community. He loves being outdoors in the fresh air. His interests are swimming, parks and soft play.
Your support will enable him to explore the local area, enjoy more social opportunities, and establish an engaging routine, particularly during weekends and school holidays.
This is a rewarding opportunity to help a young person grow and achieve greater independence while making a positive impact on his life.
Responsibilities
* Support him with communication and social skills in the community.
* Encourage outdoor activities such as swimming, park visits and soft play.
* Establish an engaging routine, especially on weekends and school holidays.
Qualifications
* Experience or knowledge of working with young people with SEND is essential.
Working Hours
The role is part‑time, with 4 hours per week available, and flexibility is required. Weekend and school holiday availability will be required.
Salary and Conditions
* Hourly rate £15.00 plus mileage allowance.
* Car driver required with business class insurance.
Employment Terms
The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family, and will not be employed or carry out work for Cornwall Council.
