The Opportunity
Exciting new opportunity to join a growing company in the Architectural Metalwork & Steel Fabrication Sector - due to significant growth the team are seeking experienced Steel detailers who will take responsibility for the fabrication and erection of steel structures and architectural metalwork used within various projects.
This position will see the successful applicant collaborate closely with project managers, engineers and other key stakeholders to ensure accuracy and the completeness of plans. Moreover, the ideal candidate will prepare detailed construction plans and blueprints
Responsibilities
* Produce accurate and detailed drawings and models using Tekla Structures.
* Work closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to confirm plans are precise and complete.
* Review and validate design calculations, specifications, and technical documents.
* Ensure all outputs meet industry standards, codes, and regulations.
* Develop construction drawings and blueprints, outlining material requirements, precise measurements, and clear installation instructions for contractors.
* Generate shop and erection drawings for the fabrication and installation of steel elements, including columns, beams, trusses, staircases, handrails, and other components.
* Provide clear communication of project requirements to fabricators and contractors, supporting accurate manufacturing and on-site installation.
Criteria
* 5 years of experience in Architectural Metalwork and structural steel detailing/drafting.
* Solid grasp of steel construction methods and practices.
* Skilled in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering plans.
* Awareness of applicable building codes and industry standards.
* High level of precision and attention to detail when producing and checking fabrication drawings.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to overcome design or construction issues.
* Good understanding of fabrication techniques and materials used in steelwork.
