The DoubleTree by Hilton Brighton Metropole is now recruiting for an Assistant Chief Engineer. The hotel is set on the vibrant Brighton seafront in a beautiful 1890’s building.
The hotel comprises 321 guest bedrooms, 24 meeting rooms, 3 restaurants, a health club with an indoor pool and sauna.

Annual salary: £38,000

An Assistant Chief Engineer is responsible for all maintenance issues within the hotel to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience, including performing daily checks, repairing equipment, and coordinating renovation projects.
What will I be doing?
As an Assistant Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for all maintenance issues within the hotel, performing daily maintenance checks, repairing mechanical equipment, and coordinating renovation projects to ensure a high standard of service. Responsibilities include:
* Managing maintenance issues within the hotel
* Performing daily checks around the hotel
* Conducting lift emergency release procedures as required
* Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical equipment
* Building good relationships with internal and external customers
* Maintaining hotel fixtures and fittings in safe condition
* Developing, implementing, and managing emergency and energy conservation programs
* Overseeing renovation projects, including bidding, scope definition, and supervising contractors
* Performing special projects and other responsibilities as assigned
* Ensuring health and safety standards are met, including safety inspections and employee training
Qualifications - External
What are we looking for?
Ideal candidates will have extensive knowledge of 4-pipe FCUs systems, centralized HVAC with chillers, boilers, CHP, and compliance knowledge. Experience managing a team of at least 5 people, handling small projects, and stock management is required. First Aid certification is advantageous.
