We are looking for a Procurement Assistant to join our team at Edinburgh Leisure, supporting the procurement team and colleagues across the organisation to achieve optimal value through effective purchasing decisions.
What You’ll Do
1. Provide administrative support for daily procurement activities, including managing the company credit card system.
2. Respond to queries from requisitioners, offering guidance to support informed purchasing decisions.
3. Deliver training and support to colleagues on the use of procurement and credit card systems.
4. Maintain and update procurement databases to ensure accurate and accessible information.
5. Advise colleagues on procurement processes, helping them identify suitable suppliers and products.
Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:
6. SVQ3/HNC or equivalent education, with Higher English and Maths (or equivalent).
7. At least three years’ relevant experience in a procurement and/or customer service environment.
8. Practical understanding of electronic purchase-to-pay systems and proficiency in Microsoft applications and ERP systems.
9. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage workloads effectively.
10. Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
11. Excellent communication skills, able to explain procurement processes clearly to non-specialists.
12. A collaborative, team-oriented mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality support.
Desirable:
13. SVQ4/HND with three years’ experience or a Supply Chain Qualification.
14. Student of CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply).
15. Experience in the not-for-profit, charity, or public sector procurement environment.
