Printworks, Manchester — Manchester’s favourite entertainment destination that has recently undergone a multi-million-pound transformation. Printworks is home to Vue Cinemas with one of Europe’s largest IMAX screens, Hard Rock Café and a range of restaurants, bars, clubs, a health club and other entertainment destinations. It now features the largest digital ceiling in Europe, a 1000m2 ceiling screen delivering creative content and special effects, with an interactive e-gaming screen for visitors.
As we enter a new chapter, we are seeking an exceptional marketing professional to deliver the new Printworks marketing strategy to new audiences while expanding our loyal and established customer base. You’ll have a fully integrated marketing background and use your knowledge to elevate customer experience while leveraging an industry-leading supply chain to deliver our vision. Strong relationship management and communication skills are essential as you will work closely with brands, site and head office teams, external local stakeholders and the wider Manchester community. The ideal candidate will be well connected within Manchester and able to raise the profile of Printworks through an effective marketing strategy. You’ll be commercially aware, results-driven and ambitious to deliver an exceptional end product.
The Role
The purpose of the role is to prepare the marketing strategy and deliver the tactical execution of campaigns and events that enhance footfall, profile and/or revenue at Printworks. The role will deliver the marketing strategy developed alongside Cushman & Wakefield’s Head of Place Activation & Enlivenment. The candidate should have in-depth knowledge of the leisure environment, excellent communication and presentation skills, and the ability to engage at all levels. Given the digital nature of our offer, a strong interest in digital and experiential marketing is vital. This position will also form part of the onsite Centre Management Team and support the overall operational management of the property in the absence of the Centre Manager or Operations Manager where required. The role involves working with a high degree of autonomy and in conjunction with: Centre Management; Brands / Tenants; Cushman & Wakefield’s Customer Experience team; other third-party agencies (PR, Creative, Media, Events); local stakeholders and partners.
Essential / Required Skills & Expertise
* 5 years’+ marketing management experience in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment
* Experience across the full marketing mix including social and digital management, events, PR, branding
* Creative thinker; self-starter who can work autonomously and keep management briefed on activity
* Experience managing significant budgets; high level of supplier and agency management
* Technologically confident and adaptable to new systems; experience with Content Management Systems
* Hard-working, exceptionally organised and IT literate
* Excellent verbal and written communications; high attention to detail
* Ability to present to clients and colleagues at a strategic level
* Experience in the leisure industry and knowledge of current hospitality and leisure trends
* Good local knowledge of Manchester and key stakeholders; analytical skills
Desirable
* Marketing degree / qualifications preferred
* Basic graphic design, photography, basic videography (on phone) skills
* IOSH managing safety or event management qualification
Responsibilities
Marketing & Brand Management
* Coordinate the preparation and implementation of an annual marketing strategy
* Coordinate all marketing activity, including events, advertising, PR, design and digital, working with external agencies where necessary
* Provide leadership and line management of the onsite Marketing Executive
* Manage marketing budget with a focus on driving ROI
* Brief and manage external agencies against SLAs
* Act as brand guardian for Printworks and ensure occupiers understand the Printworks brand
* Create relevant, timely and engaging content for Printworks digital channels
* Develop and expand community and/or influencer outreach efforts
* Content management of digital offer (ceiling screen, gaming screen, wayfinding)
* Attend networking events/online communities and build networks to promote the property
* Enter awards where relevant; support promotion and marketing of new occupiers within the centre in line with client B2B strategy
Brand & Stakeholder Liaison
* Lead occupier engagement programme; keep brands/occupiers updated with marketing plans and encourage participation
* Build relationships with local stakeholders and community groups; identify partnerships and promote Printworks as a proactive Manchester member
* Champion customer service/experience; handle enquiries, issues and complaints professionally and promptly
* Ensure customer comments and complaints (including online) are addressed with the management team
* Lead on enquiries relating to commercial use of digital screen assets; explore opportunities to enhance brand and drive non-core income
* Lead service retendering with internal and external stakeholders to achieve best value
Reporting
* Work to KPI targets; measure performance and report monthly to the leadership team
* Keep on-site records of data for immediate access; report monthly/quarterly on campaign performance to landlords and stakeholders
* Provide post-event analysis; assist with marketing-related service charge queries
* Attend internal management meetings to ensure marketing is represented and updated
Operational Support
* Support service excellence across all customer-facing areas of Printworks
* Line management of Marketing Executive
* Induct new brands and managers on Do’s/Don’ts, emergency procedures, health and safety; advocate brand importance with Operations Manager
* Assist site tours for brands, new employees, visitors; lead educational visits
* Assist in site emergency procedures; ensure activity meets health & safety and compliance requirements

* Support Head of Place Activation & Enlivenment with local knowledge and business development opportunities
* Attend training or development courses as necessary; may include travel and overnight stays
