Band 6 Midwife – Full or Part‑Time (GWH)
Job Summary
Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust invites self‑motivated, dynamic professional midwives with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to join our proactive maternity team during a period of improvement and development.
Main Duties
* Provide holistic midwifery care to women/birthing people and babies in antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal periods across hospital, birth centre, day assessment, maternity triage and transitional care settings.
* Shift working including night and on‑call duties.
* Participate in orientation and ongoing professional support.
Qualifications
* Registered Midwife or Practising Midwife.
* Maintain an up‑to‑date professional portfolio.
* Training in management of obstetric emergencies.
* Valid driving licence.
* Degree level (or diploma with equivalent experience) – or studying to degree level.
Desirable
* Teaching / Mentoring qualification.
* Evidence of further study and development of professional and academic skills.
* Experience mentoring students.
* Flexible, innovative approaches to practice tailored to individual client needs.
Experience
* Recent experience in all aspects of midwifery practice.
* Competencies relevant to the sphere of practice.
* Experience within UK maternity services.
* Midwifery experience gained through training (B5 level).
