Hull University Teaching Hospitals are seeking to recruit a Bank band 5 Occupational Therapist to join our diverse team of allied health professionals who work across a range of clinical specialties within an acute care setting.

The post holders will work alongside colleagues to support the assessment of need across a range of clinical conditions which present with varying degrees of complexity. As an occupational therapist you will have direct input into the assessment, treatment and reablement of patients who present within acute care, delivering evidence based interventions to facilitate recovery, promote well-being and optimise independent functioning as far as reasonably possible in all areas of life.

We are seeking people who can adapt to changing environment and work well in a team. You will be expected to be an active member of the multi-disciplinary team and build social networks working in partnership with other agencies to identify and address the immediate need.

Current or pending professional registration (HCPC) is required for this post hence applicants will need to hold (or be awaiting) a Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.

The opportunities will both require an element of weekend working. Due to the diversity of the rotations the ability to be able to commute effectively across the geographical patch is essential.



Our current band 5 rotations operate across two hospital sites and within community settings. The successful candidates will have the opportunity to gain direct clinical experience in the following areas:
Medicine for the Elderly, General Medicine, Respiratory, Vascular Surgery, Orthopedics, Cardiology, Neurosurgery, Oncology, Acute Stroke/Neurology, NCTR

The post holder will be self motivated and aspirational, be able to assess in an effective and timely manner in a rapid paced environment. Confidence in enabling patients in positive risk taking, personalised care, assessment of capacity, manual handling, functional assessments and knowledge of the SAFER principles will be enhanced and nurtured within this role
