The Deputy Director of Safeguarding is a key leadership role within the Trust and is responsible for the operational management and strategic development of safeguarding services for children and adults, including learning disabilities, dementia and the in-house ISVA/IDVA service. The post-holder will ensure the Trust meets its statutory safeguarding responsibilities and provides high-quality, person-centred care to individuals at risk. This is a strategic role leading safeguarding activity across the Trust in line with legislation and best practice.
The post holder will act as the lead for identified safeguarding practice areas, supporting changing local and national safeguarding priorities and objectives, including Domestic Abuse and Prevent agendas, ensuring the Trust complies with national, regional and local policies and initiatives. Reporting to the Chief Nursing, AHP and Midwifery Officer, the post holder will provide dynamic and strategic leadership for safeguarding children and adults across the Trust, ensuring statutory and regulatory obligations are met and that safeguarding for learning disability and dementia services is delivered to national, regional and local policy guidance. The role includes operational oversight and management of the corporate safeguarding team, and preparation of the Trust for new developments locally and nationally.

Responsibilities
* Provide strategic leadership for safeguarding services for children, adults, learning disabilities and dementia across the Trust.
* Ensure compliance with statutory safeguarding duties and national, regional and local guidelines.
* Lead identified safeguarding practice areas and respond to national and local safeguarding priorities.
* Oversee the corporate safeguarding team and collaborate with partners to meet commissioning and partnership standards.
* Prepare the Trust to adopt new safeguarding developments and initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience in senior safeguarding leadership within a health or social care setting.
* Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation, national guidelines, and best practices.
* Ability to lead跨-disciplinary teams and drive organisational safeguarding strategy.
