THE TEAM


The Marketing department’s strategic objective is to provide marketing, digital and social media support to our Talent Management, Live, TV Production and Distribution divisions. Focusing on campaign planning and management, content creation, reporting and analysis, data management, branding positioning, merchandise and licencing, the aim is to maximise income and outreach for our talent and brands.

The vast combined knowledge of our twelve-member team contributes to the success of our division and is continuously looking at new and creative ways to enhance our talent and brands' exposure.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


The Creative Designer will work in the Marketing department to assist mainly in the creation of graphic assets and animated content for Avalon Promotions’ marketing campaigns, across our live theatre, stand-up comedy shows and TV productions.


The role will require creative thinking and good technical knowledge of print and digital deliveries. This role will suit someone with a natural flare for graphic design, who is looking to grow their creative and technical skills whilst working on some of the most notable comedy and entertainment brands in the UK including: Taskmaster, the hit TV show, Operation Mincemeat: A New Musical in the West End, the award-winning podcast brand Shagged.Married.Annoyed with Chris and Rosie Ramsey plus numerous global comedy stars including Russell Howard, Rose Matafeo, Ed Gamble and Iain Stirling.


Reporting to the Head of Creative, this role will include:

* The creation of design assets for our live shows and TV productions.
* Re-versioning approved artwork for multiple print and digital derivatives.
* Quality-checking the creative work of other team members and freelancers
* Coming up with original ideas for creative assets, both independently and by participating in brainstorms with other members of the creative team.


SPECIFIC DUTIES


Main Focus:


* Work within the creative team to provide industry-leading design work.
* Provide creative support for the Olivier and Tony-Award Winning show Operation Mincemeat: A New Musical, across its Broadway, West End and Touring productions. Creative may include digital graphics for social and paid advertising, OOH, merchandise, graphics templates for partners and venues, and other branding materials.
* Support the Midweight Creative Designer and Head of Creative with promotional assets for Avalon’s full roster – including live tours and shows, TV productions, distribution assets and occasionally other areas of the business.
* Reversion Key Art and other creative assets to a high standard with strong attention to detail. Follow best practice for both print and digital deliverables.
* Pitch creative ideas to talent and talent managers and work collaboratively to develop content for marketing and press campaigns.


Sometimes required:


* When required, create simple motion graphics or video assets to support our Digital Content Producers.
* Assist the marketing team with planning and executing photo or video shoots with talent (occasionally out of office hours).


ABOUT YOU


To be considered for this role, it is expected that you would have a minimum of two years’ post graduate experience.


* Creativity skills: Skilled at creating and developing concepts for campaigns. Have a keen awareness of current trends in advertising and graphic design.
* Graphic Design skills: Experienced in graphic design and relevant software – Adobe Creative Suite - Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.
* Motion Design skills: Ability to use After Effects and Premiere for light animation work is also desirable.
* Passion: A passion for comedy, the arts and/or live entertainment.
* Communication and presentation skills: Excellent communication (written and verbal) and confident presentation skills when pitching ideas to talent or talent managers.
* Interpersonal skills: Excellent interpersonal skills are key with a clear creative vision, while remaining open to others’ ideas.
* Organisational and time management skills: Able to follow proper best practice for file handling, manage your time, and deliver to deadline.
