About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Systems Engineer with a strong background in Landing Gear Systems (LGS) to join a multidisciplinary engineering team supporting the delivery of cutting-edge aircraft systems. This role involves system integration, qualification, and certification activities across landing gear components including main and nose gear, wheels, tyres, and brakes.
Responsibilities
* Evaluate design solutions for Landing Gear Systems to meet programme requirements, assess risks, and support the selection of optimal technical and project outcomes.
* Support LGS integration activities through the development and refinement of system/sub-system interface documents.
* Contribute to system and sub-system qualification and certification (Q&C), including planning, oversight, and evaluation of evidence for both new and in-service modifications or repairs.
* Manage system and sub-system-level requirements, and develop detailed specifications for LGS components such as main/nose gear, wheels, tyres, and brakes.
* Provide project control and coordination, including the creation and management of project schedules and deliverables.
* Interface with internal and external stakeholders, including oversight of subcontracted work packages to ensure delivery to scope, schedule, and quality targets.
Qualifications
* Experience in Landing Gear Systems development, integration, and qualification.
* Familiarity with Aircraft System Qualification and Certification processes.
* Demonstrated capability in Verification & Validation (V&V).
* Strong requirements management and technical specification writing skills.
* Exposure to test planning, including design of experiments and analysis of lab/flight test results.
* Experience in project/work package management, planning, and reporting.
* Ability to coordinate across multiple departments and external suppliers.
* Hands-on experience with simulation, modelling, or design tools such as: Catia V5, MSC ADAMS, MATLAB, Simulink, or IBM DOORS.
* Strong problem-solving and process optimisation skills.
* Background in aerospace engineering or a related domain.
