Do you want the opportunity to work with a broad spectrum of Engineering disciplines to enhance your technical skills? We are looking for a Fatigue Analyst Engineer to join our Leonardo UK, Helicopter division. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with fatigue and damage tolerance requirements as specified by the design criteria and airworthiness regulations. Your work will cover the entire aircraft system across a range of helicopter, tilt‑rotor and UAV platforms, using both metallic and composite materials. Flight test activities are conducted onsite, and you will support our flight operations.
You will work within a team of engineers in the UK Fatigue Office, focusing on fatigue activities for UK product lines such as the AW101 and AW159 helicopter platforms, and may also work on other civil and military product lines.
Responsibilities
* Fatigue analysis of metallic and composite, dynamic and structural components and associated reports
* Development of test proposals & reports, support to component testing and analysis
* Development and review of aircraft usage spectra
* Development of in‑service aircraft inspections and inspection criteria related to fatigue
* Development of tools to improve the efficiency of analytical processes
* Produce certification data in accordance with customer, company and regulatory requirements
* Liaise with Project Engineering and Customer Support functions to address in‑service technical queries and report progress on a range of initiatives and aircraft programmes
* Provide production and repair support to the manufacturing plants
Qualifications
* Degree in a relevant subject (e.g., Aeronautical, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent)
* Knowledge and/or proven experience of stress & fatigue analysis and the production of analytical reports
* Knowledge of Fatigue Analysis software
* Knowledge of FE software such as Abaqus, NASTRAN and Hypermesh
