About The Role

Contract Type: Permanent
Working Hours: Full Time, 35 hours per week
Number of Positions: 1
Qualifications Required: Numeracy/literacy skills (at a level equivalent to NVQ Level 2)
Start Date: 1st October 2025
Salary: £23,874 per annum

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Admin and Finance Officer to join our team at Pioneer House High School.

This is a Grade 4, permanent full-time post working 35 hours per week, term time only plus 3 weeks. The starting salary is £23,874, with a full-time equivalent of £26,403.

The role is to start ASAP once all pre-employment checks are completed.

We’re looking for:

* Previous experience in an administrative and/or finance support environment.
* Excellent numeracy and literacy skills, effective written and verbal communication, able to liaise with a wide range of people at all levels.
* Attention to detail with accuracy in financial data handling, and ability to plan, prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
* Routine financial administration, ensuring accuracy and compliance with school procedures, and delivering consistent financial reporting.

Applicants must hold numeracy and literacy qualifications equivalent to NVQ Level 2 or higher. Willingness to undertake first aid training is desirable.

Main purpose of the job:
Provide efficient, responsive, high-quality administrative and financial support to the school.

Reporting to the School Operations Manager, working closely with the headteacher, staff, pupils, and parents.

Provide advice and guidance to staff, pupils, and others.

Key responsibilities include:

* Arranging invoice payments, liaising with suppliers, and raising invoices.
* Handling and banking monies and cheques securely.
* Issuing petty cash payments with receipts and signatures.
* Assisting with pupil first aid and welfare duties, liaising with parents and staff.
* Organizing meetings, conferences, and events.
* Arranging travel and appointments, maintaining diaries.
* Servicing meetings, taking minutes, and distributing notes.
* Providing professional word processing support.
* Maintaining administrative information systems and procedures.
* Dealing with reception duties, inquiries, and visitor sign-in.
* Complying with child protection policies and reporting concerns.
