As a Meter Reader, you will be responsible for collecting data from gas, electricity, and water meters for both commercial and residential properties. You will update meter readings accurately throughout the day on your handheld device, entering details at each location and providing excellent customer service.
What we offer:
* £12.61 - £13.00 per hour basic pay (weekly payment)
* Weekly hours: 40-45 hours with flexible start and finish times, Monday to Friday, occasionally Saturday, between 8 am - 8 pm
* Average annual earnings: £27,000 to £30,000
* Bonus scheme with earnings up to £1,000 monthly
* Overtime rates (£17 - £20) at manager’s discretion
* Business expenses reimbursed

* No previous experience required

* Up to 28 days holiday per year (on an accrual basis)
* Full uniform and PPE provided

Requirements:
* Full UK Driving Licence - minimum 1 year, maximum 3 points, no DR offences
* Physically fit, able to bend in tight spaces, lift, kneel, climb stairs, crouch, and walk 6-7 miles daily
* Willing to work in all weather conditions
* Clear DBS check (no unspent criminal convictions)
* Clean credit report (no county court judgments, IVA, debt relief orders in last 6 years)
* Previous customer service experience (preferred but not essential)
Duties include:
* Retrieving data from domestic, commercial, and industrial sites for water, gas, and electric meters; full training provided
* Visual inspections of metering equipment
* Charge Point Surveys
* Working independently with drive and motivation
* Maintaining a friendly and professional approach
* Adhering to health and safety guidelines
Training:
* One-week training, combining classroom and field experience alongside an experienced meter reader
