Key Responsibilities – Pipe Welding, Mechanical Fabrication & Installation
* Carry out welding, fabrication, and assembly of piping systems, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and other alloys, following technical drawings and specifications (isometrics, P&IDs).
* Prepare, align, and weld pipework (TIG) to high-quality standards in both workshop and site environments.
* Interpret and work from engineering drawings, ensuring precision and compliance with all relevant standards and codes.
* Conduct and support pressure testing, inspections, and flushing of welded pipework.
* Maintain a strong focus on health and safety, following company and site safety protocols at all times.
* Collaborate with pipe fitters, supervisors, engineers, and project teams to achieve project deliverables on time and in full.
* Represent Actemium Mechanical professionally when engaging with clients and other site stakeholders.
Essential Experience & Skills – Pipe Welding Careers in Mechanical Engineering
* NVQ Level 2/3 in Welding, Pipe Welding, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar industry apprenticeship/qualification.
* Strong, hands-on experience in pipe welding within industrial, commercial, or process environments (such as energy, water, food, or manufacturing).
* Proficient in TIG welding of carbon steel and stainless steel pipework.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (isometric, GA, and P&ID).
* Commitment to safe working practices and a sound understanding of health and safety procedures on engineering/construction sites.
* Full UK driving licence with a willingness to travel to client locations and project sites as required.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with attention to detail and a dedication to delivering high-quality work.
Desirable Capabilities – Pipework Fabrication, Pressure Testing & Site Experience
* Experience with site welding and installation on major mechanical pipework projects.
* CCNSG Safety Passport, CSCS, or equivalent site safety certificate (training can be provided).
* Familiarity with pressure testing, hydrotesting and commissioning of plant systems.
* Experience working on shutdowns, turnarounds, or large-scale industrial fit-out projects.
* MMA, and/or MIG welding (desirable)
