Job Description:
SJC Partners is currently managing the recruitment process for the hire of an acquisition search director into an innovative mergers and acquisitions deal sourcing business.
Our client specialises in sourcing off-market businesses for acquisition by private equity investors, PE-backed companies, listed businesses, and some private companies.
Businesses wishing to acquire or invest in other businesses engage our client to undertake a bespoke acquisition search, uncovering target businesses within specific criteria and facilitating introductions. Companies rely on our client to conduct thorough commercial conversations with business owners, quickly understanding different business models and building trust.
The successful candidate will be responsible for end-to-end client management, including:
* Agreeing the scope of the acquisition search with clients at board level.
* Liaising with the research team to identify businesses within the search criteria.
* Approaching major shareholders of target businesses and conducting detailed, highly commercial discussions via video call about their business model, financials, growth, and sale intentions.
* Presenting potential targets to clients and facilitating introductions.
* Managing the acquisition process relationship thereafter, requiring strong commercial acumen.
Applicants should quickly grasp different business models and have experience operating at board level, managing relationships with owners, CEOs, private equity, and corporate entities.
This role welcomes candidates from various commercial backgrounds, including those who have run their own businesses or operated at Director level.
The position offers a competitive salary with a transparent, attractive bonus scheme, paid multiple times a year based on deal activity. Bonuses are uncapped, with high performers earning bonuses exceeding 100% of their salary.
