About the Role:
Bedford Girls’ School (BGS) is seeking a passionate and experienced Sports Coach to join our dynamic Sports Department with a specialism in Lacrosse and/or Netball. We are proud of our strong Lacrosse and Netball teams and are committed to promoting sporting excellence and lifelong fitness for our pupils.
As a Sports Coach at BGS, you will work within the PE Department in delivering a vibrant, inclusive and high-quality sports programme that aligns with the school’s ethos and strategic vision. Whether you're inspiring beginners or supporting elite performers, your work will help empower young women.
Key Responsibilities:
•Promote excellence in coaching and learning to ensure pupils develop their potential in Lacrosse and/or Netball.
•Deliver games lessons to all year groups (yr3-13) in a variety of other sports such as Swimming, Hockey, Football, Tennis and Cricket.
•Umpiring and coaching at tournaments throughout the school year, including at after school fixtures both home and away.
•Lead training sessions and fixtures, which take place at the weekends and occasionally during the school holidays.
•Exemplify in own practice the skills of coaching and learning typified by lead professionals and ensure that good practice is shared through sports.
•Maintain and oversee safe use of equipment and uphold health & safety standards
