Are you a qualified or part-qualified Accountant looking for a broad Senior Accountant role within a global manufacturing business?
We are recruiting for a Senior Accountant to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing organisation in North Yorkshire. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting group consolidation and maintaining strong financial controls.
The role
This is a hands-on position within a collaborative site-based finance team, with regular interaction across the wider group.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Leading month-end processes and journal postings
2. Managing overheads, labour allocation and SG&A costs
3. Preparing and reconciling balance sheet accounts including accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and inter-company balances
4. Supporting general ledger close and monthly reporting packs for consolidation
5. Reconciling inter-company balances and managing FX adjustments
6. Completing variance analysis against budgets and forecasts
7. Supporting VAT returns and ensuring audit and internal control compliance
8. Maintaining the fixed asset register and supporting ad-hoc financial analysis
About you
We are keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:
9. Part-qualified or fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA, or equivalent experience
10. Experience in a similar accounting or management accounting role
11. Strong month-end and reconciliation skills
12. Advanced Excel capability and confidence working to deadlines
Experience within manufacturing, engineering or project-based environments would be beneficial, as would exposure to ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
