What You'll Be Doing
Are you a multi-skilled Engineer or Engineering Shift Leader seeking a new, challenging, and varied role? Do you have leadership skills and the ability to empower a team? We are looking for an Engineering Shift Leader to manage a team of engineers, maintaining and improving plant and equipment performance to meet maximum machine availability targets.
* Lead the engineering shift team to foster a high-performing culture, motivating and supporting team members to develop and reach their potential.
* Plan and prioritize the shift workload to achieve production targets by maximizing machinery uptime.
* Execute the preventative maintenance schedule to minimize disruptions and maximize machinery availability.
* Ensure all plant and equipment comply with relevant legislation, maintaining a safe working environment.
* Manage permit-to-work procedures, ensuring safety for contractors and colleagues.
* Ensure GMP compliance and adherence to food safety requirements within the manufacturing unit.
* Create a high-performing team culture through setting expectations, leading by example, and supporting team development.
* Maintain accurate documentation of shift activities, performance, and incident reports, utilizing CMMS and contributing to daily meetings.
Shift Pattern: 4 days on, 4 days off (days)
What We're Looking For

* Hold a mechanical or electrical engineering qualification, achieved through an apprenticeship or study, ideally at NVQ Level 3.
* Have knowledge of permit systems, risk assessments, and method statements.
* Possess supervisory experience and practical fault-finding skills on various manufacturing machinery.
* Display PLC awareness and fault-finding capabilities.
* Understand maintenance of engineering systems within a manufacturing environment.
* Food or FMCG manufacturing experience is desirable.
