School Caretaker - Birmingham (Part-Time) Start Date: Flexible Contract Type: Part-Time Salary: Competitive, Based on Experience About the Role: Monarch Education is currently recruiting for a hands on and dependable School Caretaker to support a busy and welcoming school in Birmingham. This is a key role in ensuring the school site is clean, safe, secure, and well maintained for pupils, staff, and visitors. We are looking for someone who is flexible, proactive, and confident working independently, with strong practical skills and a commitment to maintaining high standards. Previous experience in a school environment is desirable but not essential. Key Responsibilities: General cleaning duties across classrooms, corridors, toilets, and communal areas Carrying out basic maintenance and repair tasks (e.g. fixing doors, replacing bulbs, minor plumbing) Ensuring the school site is safe, secure, and tidy at all times Assisting with deliveries and moving furniture/equipment as needed Monitoring and replenishing cleaning and hygiene supplies Reporting any health & safety or maintenance issues promptly Supporting the wider site team with occasional out-of-hours or emergency tasks Following all safeguarding, health & safety, and school policies What We're Looking For: Previous caretaking or maintenance experience, ideally in a school or similar setting Strong practical and maintenance skills Ability to work independently and take initiative Flexible and reliable with good time management Awareness of health & safety and hygiene standards Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check (or already hold one) Monarch Education are proud to be a leading recruitment specialist in the Education industry.
