I am seeking a reliable and technically versatile Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician to deliver high-quality building services maintenance across commercial properties. The ideal candidate will have a strong electrical or mechanical bias, with proven competency in general building fabric, HVAC, plumbing, and compliance tasks. This is a hands-on role requiring a proactive, problem-solving mindset to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient building performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on a wide range of mechanical, electrical, and building fabric systems.
Conduct fault diagnosis and repair on HVAC systems (AHUs, FCUs, extract fans, etc.), lighting, power, and plumbing.
Maintain and operate mechanical plant rooms, including pumps, valves, motors, boilers, and pressurisation units.
Carry out electrical tasks, including lighting repairs, socket/panel replacements, and minor installations (if electrically qualified).
Perform general building tasks including carpentry, tiling, basic decorating, door repairs, and minor patchwork.
Respond quickly and effectively to emergency call-outs and alarms, ensuring minimal disruption to building users.
Support the monitoring and operation of Building Management Systems (BMS) and respond to plant alarms.
Maintain statutory compliance by completing tasks such as emergency lighting tests, water temperature checks, fire alarm tests, etc.
Accurately complete job sheets, service reports, logbooks, and compliance documentation.
Liaise with clients, tenants, and subcontractors in a professional manner, providing updates on work progress.
Work in compliance with health & safety regulations, risk assessments, and method statements.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities for energy savings or maintenance efficiencies.
Participate in out-of-hours call-out rota or shift work as required.
Key Skills & Experience:
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in a relevant discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC or Plumbing).
17th/18th Edition (if electrically biased) desirable.
Experience maintaining commercial building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fabric.
Good knowledge of H&S regulations, safe working practices, and permit-to-work systems.
Proficient with tools and equipment required for a multi-skilled role.
