The role
We are seeking an experienced Technical & CAD Designer to join our team. This is primarily a remote role, but the successful candidate will be required to travel to client sites and meet with colleagues as needed. You will work closely with the Key Accounts team and Technical Managers to deliver high‑quality design and specification support to main contractors and architectural clients.
Key responsibilities
Produce bespoke technical detail drawings and general arrangement drawings using AutoCAD.
Develop and update standard details and drawing libraries.
Support architects and main contractors during the design process, using technical expertise to resolve design issues.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards and codes of practice.
Deliver design information to the required quality and timescales.
Liaise with subcontractors to ensure drawings are reviewed and coordinated.
Work collaboratively with the Key Accounts team and Area Technical Managers to provide exceptional service and technical support.
Person specification
The ideal candidate will be based within reasonable commuting distance of London but able to work remotely day‑to‑day.
You must have:
A strong construction background gained within a roofing/facades contractor or an architectural practice.
Proven experience producing general arrangement and construction detail drawings in AutoCAD.
Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Self‑motivation and exemplary attention to detail.
A full, current UK driving licence.
