Attendance Officer Starting as soon as possible Permanent Position Full Time 37 hours - Monday - Thursday (8am - 4pm) Friday (8am - 3:30pm) Term Time Only Scale 4 - NJC 09 £27,254 - NJC12 £28,598 FTE (Actual salary £23,704.81 - £24,873.79) Our simple aim is to enable every student to achieve or surpass their academic and social potential. In the last five years we have driven significant improvements across all aspects of the school and we are now providing the secondary school education that this community deserves. However, we are not complacent and many challenges remain if we are to sustain and improve upon our successes and continue to provide the highest quality education for all of our students. Following the pandemic, students’ attendance at secondary schools across the country are still yet to return to pre-pandemic levels. Some families lost their good routines they had in place to help their children attend school regularly and others embraced the concept of home learning. At Kimberley we are determined to put in place the support that these children and families need to improve attendance at our school. In order to achieve this, we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and tenacious Attendance Officer who will lead on our work on improving attendance across Years 7 to 11. The post holder will work as part of our outstanding student support team, focussing purely on maximising the attendance of students across the school. Improving attendance remains a national priority and the school is committing resources to support Attendance across the school. The successful candidate will be passionate about supporting students so that they attend school regularly. This post includes liaising with a range of external agencies to support the pupils in our care, and ensuring that all statutory protocols around attendance are followed. You will: work relentlessly, imaginatively and tenaciously with parents and students in Years 7 to 11 to improve the attendance and punctuality of individual students; prioritising the attendance of vulnerable groups of students (Looked After Children, Disadvantaged, SEND ) This will include conducting home visits as is necessary maintain confidentiality and handle matters with sensitivity and discretion have the skill to manage a sustained workload & conflicting priorities maintain constructive relationships with parents/carers when exchanging information, facilitating their support for their child’s attendance be able to work individually and as part of a team On the application form, please focus on a detailed 'supporting statement' taking into account the person specification and indicating why you would be the best person for us to recruit to this position.
