Role – EC&I Maintenance Technician

Overview:
H9 Talent Solutions are exclusively partnered with FCC Environment and we are looking to hire an EC&I Maintenance Technician to work at their new build EfW plant in Northwich to be responsible for delivering day-to-day electrical, control, and instrumentation (ECI) maintenance and breakdown services.
You will work in a fast-paced, modern EfW Power Plant, helping to maintain maximum plant reliability, safety, flexibility, and performance. This includes fault diagnosis, repair, and routine maintenance on systems including DCS/SCADA, PLCs, instrument transmitters, electrical equipment, emissions monitoring equipment, and more.
Role and Responsibilities:
· Performing routine, preventative, and major maintenance of electrical, control, and instrumentation systems
· Troubleshooting and fault finding and maintaining across power plant systems such as DCS/SCADA, PLCs, instrumentation, electrical systems and emissions monitoring
· Supporting safe and efficient plant operations through timely repairs and technical assistance
· Reading and interpreting electrical drawings, P&IDs, and loop diagrams
· Calibrating digital and analogue instrumentation using tools like Beamex and 4-20mA loop testers
· Developing, maintaining and recording all work using the site's computerised maintenance management system (CMMS)
· Supervising contractors and contributing to the planning of outages and daily maintenance activities
· Supporting projects and initiatives to improve operational performance
· Supporting procurement and control of electrical and instrumentation spares and consumables
· Participating in the on-call rota and covering the Maintenance Team Leader when required
· Promoting high standards of Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance on site
Experience and Qualifications:
· ONC / City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in an Electrical Engineering discipline (or equivalent). Lower-level qualifications may be accepted with sufficient experience
· Minimum of 3 years' experience in power generation or a heavy process plant environment
· Strong knowledge of electrical, control, and instrumentation systems including DCS, SCADA, PLCs, analogue and digital instrumentation, emissions monitoring, etc.
· Proven experience in fault diagnosis, routine maintenance, and repair of electrical/control systems
· Able to interpret and work from electrical drawings, P&IDs, and loop diagrams
· Familiar with instrumentation calibration routines and tools (e.g., 4-20mA, Beamex)
· Working knowledge of CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems)
· Understanding of health, safety, and environmental practices – IOSH Managing Safely is desirable
· Competent in reading, writing, and following Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
