Manufacturing Technician

Shifts: Monday to Friday 08:00 - 16:00
Pay Rate: £13.46
Working as part of our Microbiology Division (MBD), within the Specialty Diagnostics Group, you'll play an active part in helping us to achieve our mission to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. The Microbiology Division discovers microbiological solutions for the diagnosis of infectious disease and detection of bacterial contamination. We serve public health, clinical laboratories, food companies, environmental screening and pharmaceutical laboratories with a portfolio of products that include culture media, antimicrobial susceptibility testing solutions and market-leading molecular solutions for food safety testing.
Position Summary:
The Operator will be working within a manufacturing lab supporting the Technicians in the day-to-day manufacture of Biochemical products. This will involve the operation of various pieces of semi-automated equipment, where a keen eye for quality is important whilst maintaining a good pace of production as well as preparing equipment for work throughout the week.
Responsibilities:
* To support the Technicians in the manufacture of intermediates and final products through:
*Operation of disk punching equipment
*Set up and running of semi automated dispensing equipment
*Operation of semi automated lidding and labelling equipment
*Preparation of equipment
*Preparation of packaging items
*Management of inventory through the use of SAP
*Be responsible for the quality of manufactured products, completed documentation and ensure quality standards are maintained.
*Raise any health and safety or quality issue to your Senior Technician or Team Leader.
*Participate in PPI (continuous improvement) programs as required.
*Any other duties/projects as are reasonable and within the skills and ability of the post holder.
