You would be joining a thriving property department in Plymouth that has grown steadily in both headcount and revenue over recent years. The team significantly contributes to the firm’s turnover, supporting developers, investors, lenders, and business owners across the South West and beyond. Income has seen consistent year-on-year growth, even during challenging market conditions, thanks to strong relationships and a focus on quality service rather than volume.
The team operates in a close and supportive structure, led by a highly respected partner with over seven years at the firm. The team comprises lawyers at various levels of seniority. The work is broad and engaging, including buying and selling commercial premises, complex development projects, lease negotiations, secured lending, and portfolio management. You will be trusted to manage your own caseload from instruction to completion, with support or input when needed.
Clients include local developers, occupiers, private lenders, and established investors across retail, industrial, and office sectors. The work is varied and stimulating. You will also be encouraged to build your profile in a way that suits you, whether through networking, speaking at events, or other methods.
The firm does not focus on PQE, but you will likely have around 2–4 years’ PQE, with experience in handling commercial property transactions.
