Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust
About
As one of Europe’s biggest and busiest children’s hospitals, at Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust, we treat everything from common illnesses to highly complex and specialist conditions.
In 2015, we opened a state-of-the-art hospital alongside a new research, innovation, and education centre. Alder Hey in the Park and the Institute in the Park combine excellent care, technology, and design to provide the best healing environment for children and their families.
Beyond our main hospital, we offer paediatric services at community sites and hold clinics across Merseyside, Cumbria, Shropshire, Wales, and the Isle of Man. We also provide specialist inpatient care for children with complex mental health needs at our newly relocated and state-of-the-art Sunflower House.
We recognize that a children’s hospital is unique. Our goal is more than just treating illness; we see every child as an individual. We aim to make children feel happy, safe, and confident as they play, learn, and grow, supporting not only the child but also their families, including parents, siblings, and caregivers.
Alder Hey has a dynamic research portfolio, leading studies into children’s medicines, infection, inflammation, and oncology. We are recognized globally as leaders in children’s healthcare and research, contributing to public health, pioneering new treatments, and educating future specialists.
For over a century, Alder Hey has delivered innovative, high-quality care for children and young people. We continue to innovate through our Innovation Hub, a dedicated space for clinicians and industry partners to develop new products and technologies.
