Working Hours: 45 hours per week (working 5 days out of 7) - shift times will vary in line with business needs and will include early starts from 6am and late finishes up to 9pm.
Salary: £35,000 per annum

Overview
Anchor Group Services is seeking an experienced and proactive Security Manager to lead the security operation at a busy shopping centre. This is a key role requiring strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to deliver a safe, secure, and customer‑focused environment. You will work closely with the on-site Cleaning Services Manager to ensure seamless service delivery across the centre.
About the Role
As Security Manager, you will take full ownership of the security contract, leading a team of security professionals and ensuring all operational, compliance, and client expectations are consistently met. You will be responsible for the effective management of the Control Room, CCTV operations, emergency procedures, staff development, and client reporting.
This is a hands-on management role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is confident in decision-making, problem-solving, and building strong working relationships.
As part of the duty management team, you will assume the role of Duty Manager working 8:00-17:00 twice per week, as per the site rota - this will include occasional Saturday shifts, with the opportunity to take a day in lieu during your standard working hours.
Main Responsibilities:
* Ensure the effective running of security operations
* Plan staffing levels and duty rotas to meet the needs of the location and client expectations, including using Anchor’s time and attendance systems to manage holidays, sickness and absence.
* To liaise with HR and senior management to manage site level issues including investigation, disciplinary and recruitment.
* Oversee Control Room and CCTV operations, ensuring GDPR and safety compliance.
* Respond to incidents, accidents, and customer issues with accurate reporting.
* Deliver staff training, inductions, and ongoing development.
* Maintain Assignment Instructions, Risk Assessments, and site documentation.
* Conduct appraisals, welfare visits, and disciplinary investigations when required.
* Hold regular client meetings, complete KPI reports, and support contract retention.
* Submit welfare reports, surveys, and documentation using live reporting tools.

* Experience of managing large teams of varied functionality
* Demonstrate excellence in oral and written communication
* Exemplary presentation skills with experience of presenting to and engaging management and delivery teams
* Capable of managing change quickly and efficiently whilst maintaining effective service provision
* A high energy professional capable of influencing at a senior level, developing excellence with internal and external partnerships
* Ability to work well with others and continue to deliver results under pressure
* Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to establish credibility quickly
* Outstanding motivational and people management skills
* True leadership skills necessary to achieve ambitious targets
* A flexible approach and a sense of teamwork
* Proven leadership experience within the security industry
* Strong understanding of Control Room operations and GDPR
* Confident managing teams, training staff, and handling investigations
* Excellent communication, organisation, and problem‑solving skills
* Competent in Microsoft 365 and Timegate (Zoho desirable)
